About the Bloggers

Brian Forsyth has recently become a young film critic who is interested in the influence of foreign films. He enjoys world cinema because it allows the viewer understand different cultures and see how they are being influenced by external pressures. He hopes to widen his understanding of globalization through his upcoming studies.

Lauren Hamilton is a young film critic, interested in the symbolism of different cultures in international films. She is intrigued by the history behind the symbolism and years to explore it. She also looks for strong, bold characters and excessive amounts of mis-en-scene in the films that she views.

Blair Kim is a young film critic who became interested in international cinema within the past few months. His favorite films are ones that have a much deeper truth behind them or really tell a single character's story. His favorite movie is Stranger Than Fiction because it literally tells the story of the main character and everything he encounters.

Joshua Lee is trying to reawaken and polish a once-conceived ephemeral talent of video making and editing. By consuming the art of filmmaking from many diverse nations affected by globalization, he will attempt to harmonize different styles into a unique synergetic one which will be incorporated into future video productions.

Xuan Gao is an opinionated film critic with very strict and traditionalist views. She enjoys films with meaning that convey a story. In an attempt to broaden her horizons, she joined this group of film critics to discuss and further understand world cinema.
